Samplers Remembered - Silver Sewing Etui

The sewing case is a silver stainless steel etui which is included with the chart. The piece is stitched using 40 ct Vintage Maritime White by Lakeside Linens with Belle Soie Red Fox and (please note!) this piece requires 2 full packages of 7mm Vanilla Gloriana silk ribbon.

The Kit includes the chart, etui, linen silk threads and ribbons. It does NOT include the "add-ons" in the pictures such as the Strawberry Hat Pins, 3" mother of pearl ruler and the Lace scissors, which are available separately.

Tombstone Angel - Wooden Folk Art Kit

This wooden piece is 4" from the top to the bottom and 2" across the middle of the sampler piece. The Steweb scissors are shown in the photo to give a sense of size and perspective but are not included in the kit. The kit does include the wooden tombstone, the sampler chart, trim and finishing instructions. The miniature sampler is stitched on 40 count over 2 threads using one strand of silk.

Scissors Shoe Kit

Following on from the HUGE success of the Miniature Monogram Margin Marker Hornbook kit, here is another piece - the Scissors Shoe. I the package there is 1 folk art painted wooden shoe base, 3 designs (including all 26 monograms, a design that is a "play on a Quaker motif" and a design that is voided work) the trim and finishing instructions.The length of the shoe base is 4.25" and you can see in the image that any of the Kelmscott scissors can be house in this lovely shoe. There is a hole at the top of the shoe base, so that this piece can also be hung and displayed.

Miriam Chilvers 1833 Sampler

Another beautiful reproduction sampler, this piece was stitched on 28ct Antique Tan by Wichelt. The stitch count is 173 x 184 stitches and is stitched with Soie D'Alger - #1745, 3711, 3812, 1743, 3424, 2234, 3821 3835 and Noir

Fiesta! Nicola Sabiel - 1818 A Mexican Sampler

This piece was stitched on 40ct Zweigart Newcastle Cream and uses a combination of NPI, Sampler Threads, Weeks Dye Works, DMC, Soie d'Alger and Gloriana threads! The Stitch count is 400 x 400 using 1 strand of floss over 2 linen threads.

Miniature Monogram Hornbook-Margin Marker Kit

Each kit contains 1 miniature wooden hornbook, a graph of 26 antique monograms, braid for finishing, along with finishing instructions. Fall length is 3", the width of the top of the hornbook is 2" wide and the length of the handle is 1" long. The design is stitched on 32 count Lakeside Linens using 1 strand of Belle Soie silk, stitched over 1. Each finished monogram stitched this way is approximately 1" x 1".

Dames of the Needle - Owl Scissors Book

Another talented designer was quite taken with the scissors and it inspired her to write this poem on the left. She was determined to find a finishing technique that would allow for the Owl scissors to be housed upright - it looks like they have a small hat on their head!  The top image is the outside, the bottom the inside and this piece has quite a rustic feel.

Anne Hathaway's Cottage Needlebook

A needlebook inspired by Anne Hathaway's Cottage in Stratford on Avon. The front is extremely intricate and there is silk ribbon around the edging of the whole book and then 4 charms hang off the ribbons so it will look gorgeous standing up in a curio cabinet.  On the inside left, along with the back there are lovely verses and words and on the inside right is a place to put a piece of wool and another charm.  The 5 required charms are included.

Needle Pocket and Thimble Shoe

A silk-lined, stitched pocket with attached needle case and a stitched "shoe" to hold your special thimble.  The linen is 40 count Lakeside Vintage Green Slate and the main silk is Windwhistle Cottage Silk n Colors from Thread Gatherer.  Other items are 100/3 silk in color #45 from Access Commodities, Splendor silk #S902 from Rainbow Galleries and Weeks Dye Works wool felt in Gingerbread or Chestnut. 

There is also a finishing kit sold separately that contains silk for lining, antique shoe button, shirt weight and lightweight fusible interfacing.

The Scissors cases are silk-lined.  Note that the top scissor case was made for the Putford scissors.  Along with the linens and threads listed in Part 1, this piece also requires Riversilk 4mm silk ribbon in color #198.
