'Sampler' Selection

Having seen photos of Commemorative samplers made after the
Battle of Trafalgar and the death of Horatio Nelson, I decided
that the Bi-centenary year should also be honoured with such a
sampler!

I have tried to combine the style of samplers of the early 1800s
and incorporate motifs depicting the Battle.

It is stitched on 14 count cream Aida fabric and measures
9 x 7 inches or 23 x 18cms. DMC threads are used in full,
double and half cross stitch, back, satin and chain stitch.

Chart packs include full instructions and details of threads
required and photo of original sampler. Also included is an
historical description of the motifs and design - Phillipa Sims.
