Welcome

With hundreds of members based here in the UK and throughout the world, the aim of The Sampler Guild (TSG) is to provide that forum, furthering the research of sampler history, providing the next step-up from Cross Stitch, promoting the preservation of antique samplers, continuing the art of sampler making and having lots of fun!

There are three methods of contact with members:

1. A quarterly newsletter that includes articles by both experts and enthusiasts alike, information on forthcoming exhibitions, and members requests for information and advice.

2. This website, which is updated frequently  - at least once a week.

3. The TSG Google Group, an online messaging facility that is only available to TSG members - see below.

We also have frequent and very popular 'Get togethers' and 'Meet-ups' which regularly take place all over the country. 2009 will be a very busy year for TSG members, so please see the quarterly newsletter and visit the  'Forthcoming Events' page for the latest details of what is happening.

The TSG Emporium offers a showcase of the best products from the UK and around the world including charts, books, linens and other essential items such as threadwinders, scissors etc. TSG members receive substantial discounts across a wide range of products, please visit TSG Emporium 'Contents' page for details.

The Sampler Guild is fortunate in being able to call on a number of museum curators in the UK and Europe for expert advice. In addition a selection of well known Sampler Houses and Sampler Guilds in the USA, Canada and Europe have proved to be more than eager to share their vast wealth of knowledge with us.

U.K. Membership

Members of The Sampler Guild receive a quarterly news-letter, 20 plus pages encompassing far more information than can be conveyed on a web-site, participation in annual stitching challenges and exchanges (should they wish) and advance information regarding meetings, stitching classes and events. TSG members also have access to a friendly network of sampler enthusiasts and stitchers who are as interested in samplers as you are. With the addition of the new TSG 'Google Group' you can now chat to fellow TSG members world-wide!

If you live in the UK and wish to become a member, there are two ways to join or renew membership. You can write to Linda with your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address (if applicable) and enclose a cheque for £20.00 to cover the annual membership fee and four quarterly newsletters. The cheque should be made payable to 'The Sampler Guild' and sent to the address at the bottom of this page.

Important Note! It has been pointed out to us by TSG members that with the discount they receive on some books and products, it is possible to recover the cost of membership each year!

International Membership

As well as here in England, we have TSG members in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, Thailand, Holland, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, Austria and of course, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

International Membership for a posted (snail-mail) newsletter is £25.00,please contact Linda at linda@thesamplerguild.co.uk

International Membership for an emailed newsletter is £20.00, please contact Linda at linda@thesamplerguild.co.uk

Please note - It is now possible to pay International Membership fees in U.S. Dollars by sending a cheque (in U.S. Dollars) to Linda.

If you have friends or relatives abroad, why not introduce them to fellow sampler enthusiasts through The Sampler Guild? The cost of membership is £25.00 to cover additional posting and packing.

TSG Google Group

Mike has set up a mailing service/bulletin board for TSG members, using Google Groups. This is a secure, invitation only, TSG member service. If you are a TSG member and wish to join and keep up with the latest news and developments in the sampler world, as they happen, can you please send an email to  mike@thesamplerguild.co.uk  and he will ensure that you receive an invitation to join.

Newsletters

Back issues of the newsletter ( issues 1 to 24, please specify ) are available to U.K. members either individually at £3.00 per copy plus postage and packing, or £15.00 per set of four ( any four issues ) including p&p.

Overseas members can purchase individual copies of the newsletter at £6.00 each including p&p

Or a set of four ( any four issues ) for £24.00 including p&p.

Guild Badge

You've seen it displayed with pride wherever you go! It's rapidly become one of the most sought after and universally respected Guild Badges in the world. It's gorgeous! You want one...

To enable Sampler Guild members to display their membership and to recognise fellow members at meetings, exhibitions etc., Linda designed and commissioned a Sampler Guild Badge. The cost is £5.00 plus p&p in the
U.K. or £10.00 inc. p&p to overseas members.
