TSG Update

We are writing to advise you of changes within The Sampler Guild.

The Guild was started way back in 2001 as a focal point for receiving and distributing information of all kinds, regarding samplers and related topics to sampler enthusiasts.

We produced a packed and varied newsletter on a quarterly basis to address the need.  We set up a website and a Google Group open only to TSG members.  At this point Emails were only in their early stage and Facebook and other social media unheard of.

During recent years social media has taken over.

We developed and assisted new and growing needlework businesses, as we had a good base worldwide to spread the word.  In recent years these businesses now go direct through Etsy.

On a personal level, our lives have changed beyond recognition, and the time we had years ago to run and develop TSG has dwindled.

It is therefore time we feel, to change TSG.  We are no longer going to have membership or newsletters, although we will put things of interest through the Google Group and onto our website.

We will retain the TSG website and Google Group so that information can still be shared.  Lapsed members will be welcome to rejoin the Google group should they so wish.

All calendar events that have been discussed and booked will go ahead and we hope, occasionally, to run a class or retreat should the need or opportunity arise.

We will I hope, still have Get-togethers as these have been an important part of the Guild over the years.

Those of you who have paid your subscriptions by standing order or by a recurring Paypal payment will need to cancel it.

Finally, we would like to thank all those members and businesses that have supported us over the years.  Your generosity in opening your homes and sharing your knowledge and products with others has been unbelievable.  Most of our members who joined within the first 18 months are still with us.  Thank you for your continual support it has meant, and still means a great deal to us.

We know that many new friendships have been formed, both within the UK and around the world, and will continue to grow.

So there you have it, do remember to stay in touch and use the facilities that are freely available to you.

Should you have any questions regarding the above, then please feel free to call or email.
